Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Many tourists who set down their suitcases in Koh Ngai are unaware that in addition to the long beach of Koh Ngai Beach, certainly magnificent and very photogenic, there are other beaches on the southern side of the island, the best known of which is Paradise Beach. But there is also:
Paradise Beach is in a small bay that can only be accessed by a path through the jungle (see instructions below). There is only one hotel, the Koh Ngai Paradise Beach. Its setting, a little isolated from the rest of the resorts, surrounded by nature and coconut trees with access to this small beach has always appealed to me... but its prices have always discouraged me so much so that I have never slept there. And besides, every time I have been to Paradise Beach on Koh Ngai, very few of its bungalows were occupied. But it is the ideal place for those looking for total peace and quiet! (and who are not too careful about spending because the boat transfer to come is also significantly more expensive)
That being said, you can just come to Paradise Beach from the main beach of Koh Ngai Beach, have a bite to eat or order at their bar and settle down on a deckchair, you are already enjoying the place!
Please note that the resort is only open from November to May.
The path to Paradise Beach starts behind the Thanya Resort. If you are a guest, go all the way to the back, behind the last bungalows... and follow the monitor lizards. I'm only joking because there are often some because of the dump a little higher up where they dig for food. Well, let's say rather, take the path that goes up the mountain. And if you are not a guest of the resort, take the path that starts between the entrance to the Thanya Resort reception and its small supermarket and follow it. It's quite easy, there are signs that indicate Paradise Beach. Just at the first crossroads, there are none and you have to choose the path on the left. Towards the end you arrive at the back of Koh Ngai Paradise Beach which you will have to go back up to the beach. Allow half an hour of walking in all. Take water and mosquito repellent! And come back before dark!
