The very Yon Yuk small floating market is located about twenty kilometers north of Trang city, in the district of Huai Yot. Despite its name of
talat nam which means floating market in Thai, there are no vendors on boats here. It's more a small waterside market than a floating market. It is very small, there are only very few stalls selling food but what is very nice is the access to the river in which children can swim (for adults, there water level is quite low but you can splash around). You can rent buoys (20 THB), or kayaks (200 THB). As for me, it is a pleasant place to come and eat, relax and refresh yourself by soplashing in the river during the ht season. It is probably less good during raining season as the river might be muddy. Personally, I combined it with the visit to
Wat Khao Phra Yot and the Le Khao Kob Cave.
The floating market part is only open on weekends and public holidays but there is a nice restaurant next to it which is open almost every day and has access to the best part of the river for swimming which is, from my point of view, the real interest of coming here, especially with children.
