Visit Wat Nang Phaya (Phitsanulok)
Presentation Wat Nang Phaya
g_translate Thai name : วัดนางพญา
reviews My opinion:
starstarstar
Located next to
Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat and opposite to the very interesting
Wat Ratchaburana, Wat Nang Phaya temple is smaller and less visited. Yet, it viharn is hosting the beautiful Phra Nang Phaya Ruenkaew Buddha image in a style very similar to Buddha Chinnarat.
The temple is famous for its Phra Nang Phaya amulet in the image of the Buddha seated with a three-headed naga decorated on their eaves. he interior of the temple is adorned with beautiful images and as it is much less popular than Wat Yai (Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat), the big temple of the city which is right next to it, it is a more peaceful and very pleasant temple to visit. I really advise you to combine the visit of these 3 temples which are very closed to each other: Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, Wat Nang Phaya and Wat Ratchaburana.
