Also known as Wat Yai (big temple), Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat is best known and frequented by Buddhists who sometimes come from far away on a pilgrimage to the Buddha Chinnarat, one of the most revered in Thailand, perfect example of Sukhothai style. The wihaan that houses an integral part of an enclosure in which the square corridors contain rows of Buddhas. A Khmer-style prang golden complete the building on the banks of the Nan River. This is the main attraction of the city.
