Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
You will be on Koh Thepho after crossing the pedestrian and two-wheeled bridge that connects Uthai Thani municipal market to Wat Ubosatharam (Wat Bot). Quickly after the Ban Ing Nam Resort< /strong> that I recommend (this is where I slept last time) for sleeping in Uthai Thani, you'll find yourself in the middle of a bamboo forest, fields, especially rice paddies, crossed by small roads.
Among the interesting points in Koh Thepho, I recommend of course the rice fields in the area which correspond to the GPS coordinates that I indicate for the island but also to continue your bike tour to the suspension bridge, take a look at the charming little neighboring temple Wat Bum Sap and go eat at Pa Samran Restaurant for lunch, order a fried pla ret, rhino fish, a local speciality, with a nam prik poo lone sauce, a delight (especially the sauce which is the best I've eaten so far in Thailand)!
You can also attend or participate in a bamboo weaving workshop but it is imperative to let them know a few days in advance that you will come so that they are ready to welcome you, contact them via their Facebook page. Count around 350 THB for the workshop.
Otherwise, but I haven't tested it, apparently tourists can contact the Uthai Thani Cycling for Health Club whose head office is at Charoeun Chakayan Shop 101-102 Tha Chang Road - Tel. 0 5651 1991, to ask for a map of Koh Thepho and Uthai Thani town. They also rent bikes for 50 baht per day (please contact 08 6216 3510).
