Visit Bo Ploy Lek Petch (Chanthaburi)

This century-old precious stone mine is located about ten kilometers west of Chanthaburi. It opened to the public in 2018 and allows visitors to come and try to find gems. After you changed clothes (they provide you outfits), you will go down into the pit of the mine to collect soil, your harvest will be brought to the surface and there will begin the meticulous work of washing it to and look every little pebbles hoping that among them is one that worths something.

The rule of the place is that once you have paid the entrance fee, you can keep every gem you find (but probably not if it is really a very expensive stone since the entrance fee is very low). But do not get too excited, don't expect to make a fortune ! The probability you find a very valuable gem is very low but it will be fun to turn it into gems searchers for a few hours.
