Transport to go to Phatthalung / leave Phatthalung
To go to Phatthalung ?
The quickest and easiest way to reach Phatthalung from Bangkok is to fly to Trang with Nok Air for instance, or Air Asia then take the bus to Phatthalung waiting at the airport car park. The bus schedules follow the flights arrivals. It is also possible to land at Nakhon Si Thammarat but it is a little less convenient to reach Phatthalung because you have to go to the minivans terminal by bus first. Phatthalung is also accessible by train (Bangkok - Phatthalung train timetable), however the trip is very long so I recommend you to take a night train and to be sure to have a berth, book in advance !. There are also buses that travel from the capital city.Otherwise, there are passenger minivans connecting Nakhon Si Thammarat to Phatthalung and passenger minivans or buses from or to Trang.

IMPORTANT: from 19th January 2023, 52 trains leave or arrive in Bangkok at brand new Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station, the other ones will still depart and arrive in Hua Lamphong Station (until next step to move all trains to the new Bangkok railway station). Leave Phatthalung ?
To leave Phatthalung, you can also choose the plane by going to Trang airport, the closest and easiest airport to reach because there is a direct bus, and take a flight to Bangkok. The train is also an option to leave Phattalung but the journey to Bangkok is long so if it is your destination, prefer to travel by sleeper train (booking in advance strongly recommended). Bangkok can also be reached by bus but the journey takes more than 12 hours. Otherwise, there are passenger vans or buses to Trang or passenger minivans to Nakhon Si Thammarat.
