reviews My opinion:
starstarstarstarstar
This temple perched on a mountain 23 km from Sakon Nakhon city definitely worth a visit ! It is definitely my favorite temple in the province. Once arrived, you will wander in a large area that brings together most of the elements of the temple. The highlights are: the cave with Buddhas carved on the wall, the large statue of the monk, the wooden wihaan, the golden chedi placed on a rock which has a reclining Buddha carved on one of its faces, the large Buddha footprint, a pretty terrace with a coffee shop and a beautiful view, a little area of lush artificial waterfall... Everything is beautiful !
The bravest visitors like myself will climb to the top of the mountain for a more dominant view.

How to get to Wat Tham Pha Daen ?
There is a pickup service that take you from the main road to the temple for 20 THB per person but you can go straight up by car too. I do not know which local bus (songthaew) to take to come to the point where pick-up service starts (I came by car).
