Wat Nong Takian
This very new temple - it dates from 2007 - wat built at the initiative a group of wealthy notables of Bangkok. All its components except the statue of Taksin the Great at the back are pure white with occasional golden touches. Its architectural style is a mix between Khmer and Lanna styles. The entrance of the ordination hall is preceded by an avenue of columns each having a doe at his side. On the right you will see a pond and overlooked by a statue and what is the main interest of Wat Nong Thakian, the thing we see on all tourist brochures, its park with 28 sitting Buddha statues all identical and white.

How to get to Wat Nong Takian ?

The temple is difficult to reach by local bus. The bus 523 to Kantharalak will drop you at the beginning of the road leading to the temple but there will still be 4 kilometers to walk and relying on the kindness of Thais to take you on their bike or at the back of their pick-up can work (it was the case for us that without even trying to seek for a vehicule to take us or hitchhike) but it does not work every time! Especially if you are a group of travelers. In short, it is better to hire a taxi or motorcycle taxi or go by bicycle. Because honestly, even if Wat Nong Takian's park of white Buddha statues is interesting to see, it does not worth the effort of walking 8 km to go and come back and wait for the bus on the main road.
