Visit Wat Klang Bang Kaew (Nakhon Pathom)

Wat Klang Bang Kaew is located in the district of Nakhon Chai Si, one of the most interesting in Nakhon Pathom province, 19 kilometers from the city. The highlight here is the main vihara which with very colorful murals and some small interesting details in the stucco figures decorating the outside. At the back, there is a chedi whose red brick base is Khmer style and whose statues are, from my point of view, very photogenic. The first temple built here dates back from Ayutthaya period.

There is also a small museum which exhibits historical remains, artifacts and utensils of the late monks Luang Poo Boon and Luang Poo Perm and statues of Buddha, amulets and sacred talismans. A part is devoted to traditional medicine and medicinal herbs. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays and public holidays in Thailand from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It was closed when I visited Wat Klang Bang Kaeo.
