reviews My opinion:
starstar
Wat Soi Ngam Muang temple is located on the hill behind the
Wat Phra Kaew on top of which stands the
Phra That Doi Jom Thong. It begins with a long staircase of 74 steps with naga handrails, a classic in the North of Thailand. Quite small, it consists of a main hall and a ruined chedi that is supposed to contain the ashes of King Meng Rai, founder of Chiang Rai. In front of the chedi stands a statue of the king.

How to get to Wat Doi Ngam Muang ?
The temple is very close to the Wat Phra Kaew. To get there, take the road on the right of the temple (the one where the Chat Guesthousen is) and after 600 meters you will see the stairs of Soi Ngam Muang temple.
