Visit Uthai Thani GIant Tree (Uthai Thani)

Uthai Thani Giant Tree is 97 meters high and is said to be 300 or 400 years old. It is considered sacred by the locals. People who come to visit the tree would have a happy life. That it is sacred means that you have to behave in a respectful way, especially when you take a pictures.

The tree belonged to a villager who wanted to sell it to a merchant for 9,000 baht to produce various wooden items. But he realized that it would be impossible to find such a gigantic tree again and finally decided to cancel the sell and offered the tree to the community if they promise to take good care of it. It's not an unmissable visit in Uthai Thani province but as it's on the road to go to Wat Tham Khao Wong, a superb forest temple, why not stop there and have a look ? (follow ''Big Tree'' signs)

I am always impressed by these Giant trees ! The best known in Thailand remains Kanchanaburi Giant Tree which is more majestic even if younger. But it is notthe same type of tree.
