Called somewhat presumptuously floating market, the Suk Jai Floating Market takes place once a week around the Wat Thewa Sangkharam temple along the Kwai river in Kanchanaburi city. It is above all a night market, since it take place in the evening, in a pleasant setting but not a floating market in the sense that I did not see any seller on a boat. It is however a very pleasant place to come for dinner and discover or rediscover the Thai Street Food.

The Suk Jai floating market,I prefer to say the Suk Jai night market is held every Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
It is a good alternative to Kanchanaburi night market which is held every evening near the railway station. It takes a half hour walk from the Bridge over the Kwai river to go to Suk Jai Market.
