Visit Saturday Walking Street (Chiang Mai)

reviews My opinion:

Chiang Mai Saturday Walking Street as its name suggests takes place every Saturday night on Wua Lai Road, a little outside the square of the "Chiang Mai old city". That is why it is also called
''Wua Lai Walking Street '' (pronounced
oua laï).
Just like its Sunday counterpart, Chiang Mai Sunday Walking Street, there you can buy clothes, souvenirs, jewelry... and above all, you can taste the local food with a very wide choice of dishes and street restaurants. Saturday Walking Street offers, I think, a greater variety of Thai dishes than Sunday Walking Street.
Once you are there, I recommend you to visit Wat Sri Suphan (the '' ilver Temple''), which is nicely lit for the occasion.

Practical information about Saturday Walking Street
Chiang Mai Saturday Walking Street takes place every Saturday night from 6 pm to 10 pm on Wua Lai Road.
How to get to Saturday Walking Street ?
Wua Lai Road is just outside the central square formed by the ramparts and moats of Chiang Mai, so, in general, unless you have chosen accommodation quite out of the way, you can get there by walking or by bicycle quite easily. Other option, Smart Bus R3 can drop you off at Chiang Mai Gate which is a 3 minute walk from the start of Chiang Mai Saturday Walking Street. Otherwise, as always in Chiang Mai, you can use the red cars that circulate constantly in town, take a tuk-tuk or even order a VTC.
