If the
Phraya Nakhon Cave is the the most famous cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Tham Sai located on the high hill near Ban Khung Tanot about 9 km from the national park office is also interesting with its superb stalactites which almost form a waterfall in its main room lit by a skylight.
The cave is accessed via an arduous hike in the forest. Even if it is only 280 meters, it is not a easy walk. The cave is quite dark and there is no lighting system so I recommend that you take a good flashlight even if the most interesting part is naturally lit by an opening. Note that there is a third famous cave in the park, the Kaew Cave, but do not go there without a guide, there have been several accidents. Personally, I preferred not to go to this one.
