Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
The Patio Old Town Night Market is a charming little night market in Hua Hin, probably my favorite along with the Tamarind Market which is more off-center. This market, with its vintage charm, welcomes you through a small narrow alley with engaging murals and lit by dozens of lanterns, then you arrive in its heart, the courtyard in which are installed a few food and drink stands but also stalls offering a wide range of artisanal products such as handmade clothing, retro-patterned t-shirts, postcards, handmade notebooks, accessories, home decoration items, as well as gadgets. You have a central area with tables to enjoy your purchases, a small stage with pleasant live music and small art galleries installed, especially upstairs, in the five old two-storey white painted wooden houses, connected by a wooden terrace. They were once bungalows rented to government employees for their holidays in the 1950s, have been renovated and transformed to be placed here. The atmosphere of the market is reminiscent of the old days of Hua Hin.
The Patio Old Town Night Market is next to the Hua Hin Night Market and connected to it. It is therefore convenient and pleasant to go from one to the other. It remains to be seen, if like me, you will prefer the Patio Night Market?
Note that this charming little night market in Hua Hin was previously called the Chatsila Night Market but was renamed the Patio Old Town Night Market.
The Patio Old Town Night Market is open from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive (and therefore closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) from 5:30pm to 11pm.
