People mostly come to Pai for the mountains and the nature. And there is a place not to miss : the Pai Canyon (Kong Lan)! Located 8 kilometers from the city, it is not the ''Grand Canyon'' than agnecies sometimes sell you, its dimensions are more modest, but it offers beautiful views. Visitors can reach the canyon from a staircase at the end of the car aprk. Be careful once on top, there no safety barriers. This is not a place to come with young children and not a place for people afraid of heights. Wear good shoes to go there !

Pai Canyon is also a popular place to watch the sunset. With all these mountains around, it must be great to see the solar star wane and soak up its warm color on the landscape.

How to get to Pai Canyon ?

There is no public transportation you can take to get to the Pai Canyon. If you are driving there, (you can easily rent scooters in Pai but, in theory, you should have an international driving licence to circulate even by scooter) the canyon is very easy to find. It is a little outside of the famous road 1095 and is well indicated from the city. Otherwise, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (around THB 200 to go and come back) or attend one of the many tours offered by agencies having the canyon on their schedule.
