Mahanakhon Tower is the tallest building in Bangkok. Located in the Sathorn district, it offers at its summit a breathtaking 360 degrees view over the Thai capital city. After you buy your ticket and passed security, the elevator will drop you on the 74th floor, a level closed by large windows where you can already enjoy an incredible view. There are also big cushions for those who would like to sit comfortably and admire the panorama. An escalator then leads to the 75th floor and from there an elevator can take you to the 78th floor which is an outside floor and has the famous
''skywalk'', a small space with a transparent glass floor and 300 meters of void under your feet. The bravest can take the stairs between the 75th and 78th floors. To walk on the Skywalk, you must cover your shoes with fabric bags and enter without any bag or camera (including mobile phone). At 78 floor, there is a small bar where you can buy drinks and snacks, prices start at 150 THB. There is also a few steps to reach the highest point of the building overlooking Bangkok at 314 meters high.
The best time to go up there is probably the end of the afternoon to be able to enjoy the day view, the sunset and the night view. Obviously, tis visit is a lot better by clear weather. To get down, you first need to reach the 75th floor, the elevator will stop at the 4th flor to make you go through all levels of shopping malls before reaching the exit. Note that there is also a skybar on the 76th floor which is the highest in Bangkok.
You can book your tickets to Mahanakhon Skywalk online here, they are most of the time a little cheaper than directly on site.
