Visit Kram Sakon Indigo dyeing (Sakon Nakhon)

One of the most famous handicrafts in Sakon Nakhon province is the indigo dyeing of clothes with baths composed only of natural products and based on Kram leaves, the plant used here to obtain the blue color. There are several places which offer workshops to visitors where they can choose a handkerchief, a scarf, a T-Shirt or a bag and dye them themselves by choosing a design from a large catalog and being accompanied step by step by the staf. It's really fun to do ! It is something you also find in other provinces in Thailand like Phrae but it is not the same plant that is used for the indigo color.
