Visit Khanom Kai Pa Tai shop (Chanthaburi)

Located in Sukhaphiban Road, the street along the river, just after the narrow alley leading to the bridge to the cathedral, the small shop of Pa Taï is a real institution in Chanthaburi. The egg cakes of this friendly grandmother are a lot similar to the madeleines and it is not so surprising givent that the recipe comes from France. Today, it is her son who took over and produces every day about 3,000 cookies sold directly or purchased by other shopss and vendors.

I advise you to come in the morning, a little after 9am, when the first cookies come out of the oven and buy them still lukewarm, that's how they taste the best. Bought at the shop, a package costs 20 THB while elsewhere, it will be 25 THB. So come here, the only place where you can enjoy the Khanom Kai Pa Taidirect out of the oven.
