Nakhon Ratchasima was a fortified city. There are now almost nothing left of its walls and if the doors are still present, they were all rebuilt except for Chumphon Gate or Pratu Chumphon, the only one still standing. Commissioned by King Narai the Great, French engineers built it and the entire wall that surrounded the city then in 1656.
