All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Located in Lam Kaen Sub-district, about 14 km from Thai Mueang, Ban Tha Din Daeng is a unique community. Nestled on a peninsula lined with mangroves, it offers a fascinating insight into the traditional lifestyle of the people of Phang-Nga Province.
The first inhabitants of Ban Tha Din Daeng were Muslim settlers who arrived before World War II. Today, the village has a population of about 500. Protected by a dense mangrove forest, its inhabitants mobilized to replant and restore this natural barrier after the 2004 tsunami, reinforcing its role as a model of ecotourism.
Formerly a center of tin mining, the village preserves this memory through regular demonstrations of traditional mining techniques and the Mueang Rae Muen Larn memorial.
