Pratical information to travel by minivan in Thailand
Mini vans are an alternative to buses in Thailand. Depending on your destination, you sometimes do not have a choice but if you hesitate between taking a minivan or a bus, be aware that minivans drivers often drive not very carfully and very fast. You sometimes have no room for your legs especially in the seats at the bootom of the van and some driver ask you to pay one extra ticket if your bag or suitcase is big.
There are no minivans at Victory Monument in Bangkok any more. They were moved to their respective bus terminals. Those who serve the North and Northeast of Thailand are at Mo Chit Bus Terminal, those going to the South, to Amphawa, Damnoen Saduak or Kanchanaburi leave from Sai Tai Mai, those for Eastern Thailand leave from Ekkamai Bus Terminal. You'll also find some vans to the South or Kanchanaburi in Mo Chit. There are free shuttle buses make between the Victory Monument and bus terminals.

Flight + minivan formulas
Low cost airlines Air Aisa and Nok Air offer flight + minivan transfer (and possibly + ferry transfer) to the most thai popular islands and some other destiantions. Very practical, they are a good option to go to Koh Samui and neighboring islands, direct flights from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi or Phuket are very expensive.
They also go to places like Surin, Phang Nga, Khao Sok and Ao Nang (Krabi).
