Let's start our trip by visiting Wat Niwet Thammaprawat. Located on a small island, the temple was uniquely built in a Gothic Revival style. Then we'll go to Bang Pa-In Palace. You'll find stunning buildings in many architectural styles from Thai, Chinese to European. Note that you can stroll in the palace complex, but you can't enter the buildings. Then, we'll move on to Wat Phanan Choeng, which was built in 1324 even before Ayutthaya was founded! You can take your time when taking pictures!

Grab local lunch. Relax at Ayothaya Market and walk around shopping for souvenirs.

After visiting the market, let's go to Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, which was first built by Ayutthaya's first king in 1357. It's very photogenic with striking pagodas and rows of Buddha images. Then we'll visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet which was the royal palace built by the same king. Later, the palace was used as the royal temple for religious and royal ceremonies. Don't miss the iconic pagodas! Lastly, we'll go to Wat Mahathat with the world-famous Buddha head in tree roots & Khmer-style architecture. We will leave Ayutthaya and head back to Bangkok in the evening.
