Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Meet at 8am at the agency's office near Thapae Gate.
Start the trek 10 minutes from the city center by an old pilgrimage path to the charming Wat Palad, a forest temple bordered by a small waterfall.
The trek will continue on steeper paths to get to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the holiest temple in the province. You will arrive by an almost unknown path at the back of the temple. You will take the time to visit it and admire the panoramic view over Chiang Mai in the valley.
Then you will take a hidden path, just behind the temple, and plunge you into the jungle. This route was created at the beginning of the last century by Hmong people who came from Laos to settle in this mountain and cultivate opium there. You will walk under a thick cover of trees and climbing plants, in the green shade.
After 3 kilometers of the flat, you will begin to descend towards the city on a wilder and more rugged path with fallen branches and tree trunks to step over. And suddenly, a waterfall 25 meters high will appear in the middle of the jungle. And a second one, half an hour later? You will take a refreshment break there before going back to Chiang Mai and then to your morning meeting point by taxi. This trek lasts approximately 5-6 hours and is medium difficulty.
