Spend 2 days immersed on a small, peaceful island in Krabi, away from the tourist hustle and bustle, where locals make a living from fishing and rice farming. Explore villages, enjoy a longtail boat ride through the mangroves, take part in activities including a cooking class and sleep in a local homestay on a farm.
Details
Day 1
9:00 am: You will be picked up from your hotel in Krabi or Ao Nang (or nearby, if further away, a supplement may apply).
You will board a longtail boat, a traditional Thai boat, to reach a preserved island. Once there, you will discover local life and its traditions.
As you sail along the rice fields, you will have the opportunity to observe the fauna and flora. You will then visit a fish farm before enjoying a local meal in a floating restaurant.
In the afternoon, a Thai boat will take you through the mangroves, where you will discover the richness of the fauna, flora and caves full of history.
Around 4:00 pm: Arrival at your homestay on a farm on the island. Installation and relaxation.
You will have the opportunity to fish or go for a bike ride on the small roads of this very rural island.
Dinner and night at the homestay.
Day 2
Breakfast at your homestay with the locals.
Your host will offer you a cooking class with local products, which you will enjoy for lunch.
Then, you will leave with your hosts to collect clams, cockles and other mollusks at the seaside, very abundant on the island. You can also admire the eagles flying over the mangroves.
Return to the homestay for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will participate in a new cooking class to learn how to make delicious local desserts.
Around 4 p.m.: Departure to your next destination near Krabi.
