The province of Bueng Kan

General information about the province of Bueng Kan

Province capital: Bueng Kan
Name in Thai: บึงกาฬ

Location on map

bueng kan

Province of region Northeastern Thailand (Isaan)

Bueng Kan, Thailand's youngest province, is a land of untouched natural beauty with picturesque landscapes and authentic culture. Located in the northeastern region of Isan, this emerging province is a hidden gem much appreciated by ThaPis but still very little visited by foreign tourists.

The flagship and best-known monument of the province is Wat Phu Tok and its wooden footbridges clinging to the side of the mountains. The Naga Cave and the 3 Whale Rocks complete the podium of the best-known places in the border province of Laos, bordered by the Mekong.

The town itself is a small, peaceful provincial town with a pretty river front but it is above all for its astonishing natural formations and waterfalls that we come to discover Bueng Khan.

In summary, Bueng Kan with its magnificent landscapes, its rich heritage and its peaceful atmosphere, invites you to explore another side of Thailand, far from the beaten track.
