This 10 days festival starts with a ceremony to honor the King U-Thong, who founded Ayutthaya as the capital of Siam in 1351 and a religious ceremony to honor the relics of the Buddha.But what the highlight of this fair is the light and sound show at Wat Mahathat (tickets from 200 to 500 baht - booking by calling 03 533 6563. There is also an exhibition about the ancient Ayutthaya and a with free guided tram tour by students of Rajabhat Ayutthaya University. A traditional market is also organized as well as traditional dance performances and many other animations.
