Khao Phansa which marks the beginning of Buddhist Lent is the opportunity to attend or even participate in traditional ceremonies to acquire merits. The Tak Bat Dok Mai is a unique ritual in Saraburi province, about a hundred kilometers from Bangkok. It consists in offering flowers called Dok Khao Phansa (flowers of Khao Phansa). These typical yellow flowers have the particularity to flourish precisely at the time of the Lent.
Tak Bat Dok Mai ceremony is held at Wat Phra Buddhabat Woramahaviharn temple in the district of Phra Buddhabat, Saraburi province.
