Sak Yants are traditional Thai tattoos engraved in the skin by Buddhist monks supposed to bring protection and luck. Each year, more than 10,000 people gather at Wat Bang Phra, a Buddhist temple in Nakhon Chaisi district in Nakhon Pathom province, 50 kilometers from Bangkok.On the previous day, there is a magic recharge of sacred tattoos ceremony and on D-Day, a group of Buddhist masters and monks gather at the temple to apply 1000 new tattoos. Hygiene conditions are not as strict as in a tattoo parlor and that making this tattoos is not without risk for your health.
