Every year for Makha Bucha evening, one of the main Buddhist festivals,
Wat Tha Khanun temple in Thong Pha Phum at 128 km in the North-West of Kanchanaburi organizes a festival especially interesting for its tradition of drawing Buddhas and symbols with thousands of candles placed in the lower part of the temple that can be admired from the point of view on the hill . It's just superb!
There is also a market with local food stalls.
