What makes this festival magical are the tens of thousands of colorful traditional lanterns that are hung in the courtyard of Wat Phra That Hariphunchai temple. At night, it’s just magical!
Two days before Loy Krathong, there is a big procession which takes place around 6 p.m. And on the day of Loy Krathong, in addition to the prayers at the temple and the colorful lanterns hung, the inhabitants put their krathongs (small homemade rafts topped with a candle and 3 incense sticks) into the water in the nearby river. /p>
