Information about Khao Lom Muak hike
Mount Khao Lom Muak is located within Wing 5, the Prachuap Khiri Khan air military base. It offers incredible views on the 3 bays, the city and the 3 small islands. Climbing to its summit is quite rough especially the end of the path. Khao Lom Muak hike is only possible during long weekends with public holidays in Thailand, so I indicate here, in the events section of the website, the dates when it is possible to climb up there.This may be subject to change but in general, registrations for climbing up are open from 6 am to 10 am only. You have to register in the tent at the foot of the mountain. Note that entering the military base will probably require you to give up your passport in exchange for a pass but access is free. I recommend that you bring a pair of gloves or buy them when you register. The rangers let groups of about thirty people to go up at regular intervals. Be careful at the top, there are no barriers.
