The Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan is one of the biggest party in the world. It is held every full moon on the small Haad Rin Beach in the south of the island. Each month 10,000 to 30,000 revelers come to dance and party on the beach. Hotels are fully booked for days, so it is imperative to book in advance (see accommodation here]). In general, revelers stay 2-3 days and then Koh Phangan is peacefull again until the next Full Moon Party.

Be careful especially on the roads that night. There are a lot of accidents. Be also aware that repression against drug use is very hard in Thailand. Your holidays can turn into nightmare just for a smoke! Wear shoes to avoid to get cut with broken bottles on the ground and watch out for pickpockets and theft in Haad Rin hotels and guesthouses that night. Do not accept any drink from a stranger and avoid going alone to these parties especially if you are a woman. And have fun!
