Thonburi Railway Station, formerly known as Bangkok Noi Railway Station, was opened in 1900. Located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, it is isolated and is the departure point for trains to Kanchanaburi and as far as Namtok. During World War II, the station was damaged by bombing, but was later rebuilt. Today, although smaller and less busy than Krung Thep Aphiwat and Hua Lamphong stations, it is still used by those who want to reach Kanchanaburi in a more pleasant way than by road.

Tickets for this train line are not bookable in advance. They can only be purchased directly at the ticket office at the station. The fare is the same (100 THB at the latest) regardless of the distance traveled.

How to get to Thonburi Railway Station?

Thonburi station is quite poorly served by public transport. The nearest metro station is MRT Bang Khun Non which is about half a kilometer away. Even by bus, you won't be dropped off in front of it so it's better to go to Thonburi station by taxi or tuk-tuk.
