How to take Bangkok BRT buses?

BRT buses in Bangkok

The BRT (Bangkok Bus Rapid Transit system) is a bus system that is a bit different from the classic buses in Bangkok, a sort of mix between bus and BTS, the aerial metro. The stations are very similar to those of the BTS and if they are buses, they have their own traffic lane and are therefore not impacted or almost by traffic jams hence the word rapid in their name. There is only one line that has 14 stops from Sathorn to Ratchapruek. Each end of the line is connected to the BTS at Chong Nonsi station in Sathorn, close to the Mahanakhon Tower and Talat Phlu for Ratchapruek. This bus system, which was almost stopped in 2017, still works and allows you to easily reach the amazing temple Wat Pariwat. It has had electric buses since September 1, 2024, when two new stops were also added.

NOTE that traveling by BRT bus in Bangkok is currently free until October 31, 2024. After that, you will have to pay for your trip on board via an automatic system that I am not sure does not require you to purchase a Rabbit Card, which would make it less practical for tourists.
