5 unusual places to visit in Thailand
Today, we decided to present five original places in Thailand that are rarely proposed by tour guides or book about Thailand (except for James Bond Island). Come on, let’s go!
Sam Pan Bok in the province of Ubon Ratchathani. Also named the Grand Canyon of Siam, it is an amazing place where nature has carved thousands (3000 if you believe its name) craters in the rock. |
The Temple of One Million Bottles or Wat Lan Khwat in Sisaket province. It is a temple built exclusively with empty bottles of glass and cement. An original idea for recycling ! |
James Bond Island, the famous island seen in The Man with the Golden Gun. Thais call it Koh Tapu which means the nail island and it is true it looks like a nail in the sea
The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya. It is a beautiful and impressive building made entirely of wood without nails or screws using ancestral techniques.
The Phallus Shrine in Bangkok near BTS Chitlom where you will find hundreds of penis sculptures placed there to pay respect to Chao Mae Tubtim figure of female fertility. |
I would have added the huge Big Buddha at Wat Muang in Ang Thong but I put it a little too often in this type of selections;)
