Free donuts in Thailand for Donut Day !

National Donut Day is on the first Friday of June each year and in Thailand, where the donut is well established now with several chains specialized in donut, it will be celebrated! In Thailand and in 32 other countries around the world.

There are promotional parades, often quite ridiculous but fun (like this one last year) and special promotions to aeat and eat donuts for cheap or even for free! For instance Dunkin Donuts will offer a free donut for every drink purchased when Mister Donuts will distribute free donuts from 4 PM in all its stores around Thailand (first 200 arrived, first served 200) and will offer the second donut at half price during the all the day. Daddy Dough will also distribute 200 donuts from 4 PM and no doubt that there will be other promotions. So if you are on diet, avoid donuts shops tomorrow!

This day is highly commercial today but National Donut Day began in 1938 when the Chicago The Salvation Army organized a fundraiser to help those in need during the Great Depression to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War. Enjoy your donut, tomorrow, June 7, 2013! 😉
