Let’s celebrate Songkran in Pattaya !

In three weeks comme Thai New Year called Songkran. Three days of public holidays between religious ceremonies and celebrations, between prayers and water fights in the street. If in general, Songkran lasts 3 days (from April 13 to April 15) in Pattaya, it lasts a week !

Indeed in Pattaya, the celebrations last until April 19, an extension traditionally called Wan Lai Festival.

During Songkran week  Pattaya goes crazy ! More than half a million people from all over Thailand and abroad converge to Pattaya. Especially for the memorable water fights in the streets. In Pattaya, Songkran usually begins on April 11 and ends on April 19.

 

During this period, so it is highly recommended to book your hotel in Pattaya or guesthouse in advance to be sure to find a place to sleep.

The most impressive water battles take place in South Pattaya, on the road along the beach. Otherwise, it is in Soi 6, 7 and 8 and Soi Bua Khao that things happen. Off course, temples including the Pattaya Big Buddha are also frequented by the faithful as Songkran is also and above all a religious festival.

On April 18, things take place in Naklua, North, and especially near the old Naklua Fresh market. While on April 19  is the big party in South Pattaya ! The road along the beach and all adjacent roads will be closed to traffic, creating a 3 miles long road for a giant water fights.
