5 days holiday to celebrate 2015 New Year in Thailand
At a meeting of the cabinet, a few days ago, it was decided that Friday, January 2 would be an additional holiday in Thailand. So Thais will have an entire weekend of five days to celebrate 2015 New Year. Like last year, it was decided to boost local tourism. The seats in buses, trains and rooms in hotels will be scarce.
Only administration offices and banks will be closed, transport and other businesses will be operating normally. We strongly advice you to book in advance your hotel room in Thailand if you think you to travel in Thailand at this period, particularly in very popular places to Thais like Koh Larn, Koh Samet, Hua Hin, Ban Krut, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Sangklabhuri, Chiang Mai, Phuket, the islands near Trang … But Bangkok will probably a lot more clam than usually, it will be easier to circulate and find where to sleep during those five days in the thai capital city.
It is also advisable to book your transport in advance either by buying your bus ticket on this website or by booking your flight. If you intend to take the road the weekend of New Year, be careful ! It is unfortunately with Songkran weekend, the deadliest weekend onThai roads.
