Siam House of Bizarre Creatures in Bangkok
Do you know the Siam House of Bizarre Creatures ? It is a small museum in Thaling Chan in Bangkok suburbs that collects strange creatures. No supernatural or fantastic creatures but real living animals with some strange particularities.
The iconic animal of this small museum located in Wat Taling Chan is the two-headed Florida turtle but there are also Siamese turtles forming a beautiful heart shape, a no face albino fish, a gecko with two tails ect … in short, they collect strange animals. A fun and original visit to do in addition to the visit of Taling Chan floating market held on weekends and the different tours on the klong tour offered from there.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 am to 5 pm. The entrance fee is 30 baht for Thai children, 60 fror Thai adults and 150 baht for foreigners (but if you speak Thai, you might be able to get the Thai price). The price includes a guide but to my knowledge none of them speaks English.
To reach the museum, take bus 79 (the only line that passes by Taling Chan Floating Market), there is a stop in front of Central World. Several other bus lines (eg 149, 507) can drop you around 1 km away.
