Koh Tao 10th best island in the world
In the latest TripAdvisor’s best islands in the world ranking, Koh Tao comes 10th. In Thailand, Koh Tao is THE diving destination but it is also a very beautiful island with white sand and clear water, a real postcard landscape that, and it is the only downside of the place, attracts many, many, many people.
The Turtle Island (koh means island in Thai and Tao means turtle) was named 10th best island inTripAdvisor’s ranking. Many websites celebrate it and forget that in the same ranking last year, Koh Tao was 8th and therefore lost two places. Probably the tourist saturation of Mae Haad and Sairee Beach, the most popular beach there, has something to do wtih it. That is why on Thailandee.com, we don’t really advise people to stay on Koh Tao except for diving courses and to prefer other a little more peaceful islands (such as Koh Phangan, but not during Full Moon Party, 3rd Best Island in Asia or Koh Lanta, 4th).
