Where to celebrate New Year’s Countdown 2018 in Thailand ?
Tonight at midnight, this will be Christmas and if my calculation is correct in one week, we will celebrate New Year’s Eve. Here are the most important countdown festivals 2018 throughout Thailand.
New Year’s Countdown 2018 in Bangkok
Central World Countdown 2018
Like every year in Bangkok, this is the biggest party will be held by Central World shopping mall. There will be a live music festival with famous Thai artists to make you wait until the countdown followed by a firework.
Many Central Festival or Central Plaza shopping malls in Thailand will have an event with live concerts and countdown on December 31st.
Asiatique The Riverfront Countdown 2018
The other place to be in Bangkok four new year’s countdown is the Asiatique The Riverfront with live 90s music and countdown. The setting is nicer than the esplanade in front of the Central World, I think. But I did not know if there will be fireworks, but that’s very likely.
New Year’s Countdown 2018 in Chiang Mai
In Chiang Mai, Central Festival aalso organize a big evening with live concerts and a countdown.
Alternatively, for something more traditional, go to the Three Kings Monument with traditional music and dance performances and of course Thai food stalls and a artcraft market.
Of course, Thapae Gate is aloso an important meeting point for New Year’s Eve in Chiang Mai.
New Year’s Countdown 2018 in Phuket
In Phuket like in 4 other destinations in Thailand, TAT organize the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2018.
It will take place in Phuket Old TOwn with its brightly colored Sino-Portuguese buildings.
New Year’s Countdown 2018 in Pattaya
If you are in Pattaya on December 31st, go to Bali Hai Pier, at the end of the Walking Street in South Pattaya for beautiful illuminations, live concerts, countdown before midnight and a firework that will probably be the most beautiful in the country to welcome the new year.

Lampang, 1h30 drive from Chiang Mai, will be part of the 5 cities having the Amazing Thailand Countdown Festival 2018. It will take place around the city Clock Tower.
