Renting a appartment or a villa for your holidays in Thailand
When spend holidays in Thailand, in general, you choose to stay at hotels or guesthouses but renting an appartement or a villa often do not cost more. Specialized web sites offer house or flat rentals or even rooms rental in private homes at very good prices all around the world and of course in Thailand !
Renting a fully equipped apartment in Bangkok
Renting an apartment in a condominium in Bangkok is a good alternative. You have more space tha in an hotel room, can have an equipped kitchen, WIFI and especially you feel like at home. And if you come with your family, it is often a lot cheaper option than satyaing at the hotel. And there often are interesting facilities in the buildings (laundry, fitness room, tennis court, even a swimming pool sometimes …).
Prices start at 15€ for a small apartment and can go very high for luxury apartements but the average fare is between 25 and 60€ per night.
It is best to choose an apartment close to the BTS, the Bangkok Skytrain, so you can easily move around and visit the city.

Renting an apartment or house in Pattaya
Pattaya also has many apartments or houses you can rent for your holidays. There are many condominium with very comfortable and modern flats with nice views especially in Jomtien area. If the first price is 16 € per night for forty square meters, count around 35-60€ for one night in a reasonably sized apartment with quality facilities and services.

Renting an apartment in Chiang Mai
In Chiang Mai too, you will find many condominium with apartments for rent. By cons, they will be outside the central square, where the most interesting temples and the famous Sunday Walking Street Chiang Mai are located. The apartments rentals in the “historical center” of Chiang Mai are not very numerous. In town, the rental prices for an apartment start at 19€ for a night.

Renting a seaside villa in Thailand
The south of Thailand is full of beautiful islands or cities with more or less beautiful beaches. In all of them you will find beautiful villas for rent. There are simple houses but also luxurious villas with pool and great views over the surroundings. What better way to spend a dream holiday in Thailand ? Especially since the price is often very reasonable and often cheaper than the hotel fares especially if you rent a villa for several persons.
The Phuket area is clearly the destination where villa rentals in Thailand is the most popular and where the rental offer is the most prolific. I must say that this is surely the best way to make the most of a stay with friends or lovers on the southern Thailand island .

But there are also some very nice villas for rent in Koh Samui with magnificent views. For cons, the most beautiful houses are often a little isolated and you will need to rent scooters or a car to move around the island.

That was the destinations with the biggest villas for rent offer but there are obviously other places like Hua Hin, Koh Lanta, Krabi, Ao Nang… where you can also rent a nice villa. The offer is simply less prolific.
There are several web sites to book a rental villa or apartment in Thailand. The best known is Airbnb but it requires to be a member (it’s free) before you can book anything. Personally it irritates me. So, I’d much rather use Wimdu which allows instant booking although booking creates an account.
