It’s become a tradition now, in February, you can get a memorable union with an underwater wedding among the fishes in Trang in southern Thailand. The place is registered in the Guinness Book of Records since 2000  for having celebrated “the largest underwater wedding ceremony.”  (12-13-14 February 2016).

Marriage on an elephant’s back in Thailand

In the province of Surin you can get married on an elephant. The ceremony takes place on Valentine’s Day at  Surin Elephant Village, in the district of Tha Tum. Known as the “Sut Tae Ceremony” that reflects the traditional wedding ceremony of the local tribe “Kuai” , it brings good fortune and prosperity to the happy couples. The paperwork marriage registration also takes place on an elephant.

The romantic red lotus sea

In Udon Thani province, northeast of Thailand, Kumphawadpi reserve boasts a rich ecosystem with many species of aquatic plants. February is the month of flowering of million red lotus on the pure waters of Nong Han lake (see our page about the Thailand  Red lotus sea ). On Valentine’s Day, a decorated tricycle parade is organized for lovers. They can than go through a “sea” of red lotus to reach the temples of Udon Thani to pay homage to Lord Buddha.

As you can see, for wedding, honeymoon or just a trip getaway, Thailand is the perfect setting for a romantic stay.

Several travel agencies and major hotels in Thailand can organize a wedding in every detail without omitting to indicate the papers and procedures necessary for it to be legally recognized in your homeland.
