Bangkok among the 25 Top Travel Destinations in the World

If Bangkok has dropped slightly in the rankings of various travel websites and magazines in the past two years, the city is amking its come-back to the first places. It is quite natural to find Thailand capital city among the 25 Top Destinations 2015 du Travelers Choice 2015 de TripAdvisor.

Thailand still has a big place in the heart of travelers around the world who love its exotic beaches, heritage sites and tasty food. The country is represented in four categories of the annual best of the Traveler reviews website: best destinations (Bangkok), best landmarks (Wat Pho), the best islands (Koh Tao) and the best beaches (Nai Harn Beach) in the world.

Bangkok is 18th in the list of the top destinations in the world, a slight increase comparing to last year when it was 20th. Wat Pho and its Reclining Buddha, our favorite temple in Bangkok is ranked 21st best monument in the world. Chiang Mai which was 24th best destinatination last year, is not in the Top 25 this year.

And this is again Nai Harn Beach in Phuket ranked 18th among the top 25 beaches in the world that is the best loved beach in Thailand, while Koh Tao is ranked 5th best island in the world and first in Asia.

Otherwise, it’s Marrakech in Morocco which is ranked best destination in the world according to TripAdvisor’s visitors followed by Siem Reap in Cambodia and Istanbul in Turkey.

Cambodia has taken first place of the best monuments in the world with Angkor Wat. We highly recommend you to add it your program during your next trip to Thailand. Then comes Machu Picchu in Peru and Taj Mahal in India.

These classifications, and especially TripAdvisor’s ones, often list places which are the most popular and has the most tourists and not necessary the best ones. It is even the barometer of many places to avoid for some travelers 😉
