Thailand launches a webpage to apply for a visa on arrival online
The Immigration Bureau of Thailand has recently launched a new web service that allows citizens of 19 countries to apply for a visa on arrival online before their trip to Thailand.
Why the online visa application service?
The VOA (Visa Online Application Service ) aims to facilitate the reception of tourists arriving in Thailand at Suvarnabhumi Airport, which sees an increasing number of foreign passengers. It will reduce the time at Immigration. And even if compared to other neighboring countries time spending for Immigration in Thailand at airports is often pretty reasonable, it should “promote a positive image of Thailand as a welcoming destination”.
Who can apply online for a visa on arrival for Thailand ?
Nationals of the following 19 countries : China, India, Taiwan, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Bhutan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Malta, Romania, Mauritius, Latvia, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia , Cyprus, Andorra, Kazakhstan and San Marino
The online form can be found on www .immigration.go.th. Once the application has been completed, the applicant will receive a document with a reference number that he must print and bring it with him on his trip to Thailand to get its stamp in his passport. The VOA is currently available in English and Chinese.
