Free Thailand smartphone applications
As you can imagine, there are many smartphone applications about traveling in Thailand. Some of them are free, mainly those ordered by TAT (Tourist Authority of Thailand). Here’s a list of the ones we found the most interesting. We especially recommend Speak Thai, really good, and TouristBuddy that can be useful to require for Tourist Police assistance. For the rest, we find them a bit “light” but it costs nothing to try them anyway, it’s free!
- iThai – Thailand Official Guide, practical information about the Thailand and its culture: iPhone
- Speak Thai, a handy little application to learn basic Thai and which can tell for common phrases: iPhone
- Top 50 Amazing Experiences in Thailand, everything is said in the title: iPhone
- TouristBuddy, the Thai Tourist Police application, you can fill a complaint or call for immediate assistance (we did not test the reactivity of intervention but as they got the GPS coordinates of your location thanks to your phone, they should in theory be able to arrive quickly): iPhone / Android
- Eat and Drink in BKK, a selection of bars and restaurants in Bangkok: iPhone
- Thailand Highlights, a guide with offline maps: iPhone
- Thai Cookbook, a small cookbookwith the most typical Thai dishes: iPhone
Alternatively, some companies offer applications. it is the case with Thai Airways (iPhone / Android)
