CHANTHABURI MIRACLE CHRISTMAS: THE BIGGEST CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL IN THAILAND
One of the best destinations in Thailand to find the Christmas spirit is clearly Chanthaburi, 250 kilometers in the East of Bangkok. The celebrations organize by the christian community living there have grown in the last year to become the “Chanthaburi Miracle Christmas Festival”. Here is the program for this year.
THE CHANTHABURI CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
Each year, the Chanthaburi Christmas festival is held from December 21 to 24 . The centerpoint of the celebrations is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the biggest one in Thailand.
Chanthaburi CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL PROGRAM
The highlights of the Chanthaburi Miracle Christmas are the 3D sound and light shows projected every evening on the facade of the cathedral.
There will be every evening on December 21, 22 and 23, first a teaser at 8 p.m. then a show at 9 p.m. and another at 10 p.m. which will end with fireworks. On the 24th, the program will be a little different because it will have to last until midnight.

7:30 p.m . : Raffle and dances
8:00 p.m .: Teaser 3D Mapping Miracle Christmas (short version)
8:15 pm: Christmas carols
8:30 pm: ceremony
10:15 p.m .: 3D Mapping Miracle Christmas (full show with light projections on the cathedral)
10:35 pm: Christmas carols
11 p.m .: 3D Mapping Miracle Christmas
Midnight: countdown and fireworks followed by a distribution of panetonne cakes and drinks
Besides finding the Christmas spirit in Thailand, it can be interesting to see how this holiday is celebrated in another country. And Chanthaburi is a charming city which, for me, makes a pleasant 2-day stopover on the road to the islands of Koh Chang , Koh Kood or Koh Mak.
Otherwise, the other very nice festival for Christmas in Thailand is the Christmas Star Parade in Sakon Nakhon in the north-east of Thailand I was there last year and I loved it !
