3 Thai traditional Khon performances in Sukhothai
At the end of November, Khon, a Thai traditional masked theater, was inscribed on UNESCO’s Cultural Heritage List and to celebrate it the authorities had declared that 2019 would be the year of Khon with performances in many places all around the country. There will be 3 of them until mid-March in the Sukhothai province and Kamphaeng Phet (see below).
3 esceptionnal performances
The performances will take place in or in front of the 3 big historical parks in Thailand also listed at UNESCO: Sukhothai, the best known, Si Satchanalai and Kamphaeng Phet historical parks.
Programme of performances
The first “round” as they say, will be given on February 6, 2019 as part of the “Back to Ancient Si Stachanalai” fetival which I have already shared the dates on Thailandee.com, so in Si Satchanalai historical park, then a second round will be performed in Sukhothai on February 24 and another one in Kamphaeng Phet on March 13, according to the following schedule:
- Round 1: February 6, 2019 at 19.00
At Wat Chang Lom in Si Satchanalai Historical Park - Round 2: February 24, 2019 at 19.30
At Wat Chanasongkram in Sukhothai Historical Park - Round 3: March 13, 2019 at 19.30

I do not know yet if the entrance is free of charge or not but I should have the information tomorrow.
